Our purpose for ministry is simply stated in the sentence, equipping the Man, to build the Church, to change the Nations.
The strength of the church (church = body of believers, not a specific building) is directly proportional to the maturity of its individual parts. Therefore, we focus on building the man (used in an inclusive sense - men and women) in the Word of God, character and life/ministry skills. He then is able to fulfill Ephesians 4:15-16. "but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love."
The members of the body are salt and light to the nations and thus effect change through Christlike living, thinking and acting.
The maturing disciple is not one who lives a split life of "spiritual" and "secular" areas, but has submitted all areas of life to the Lordship of Christ and therefore brings the truth of Christ's Word into self, family, job, local assembly and the nation.
Our method is primarily man-to-man, small group and teaching seminar.. We have experienced through the years that one-to-one is the most effective means to help another gain understanding of and submit to the Word. This discipleship method is also one of the slowest, yet if produces the strongest thinkers and doers. One-to-one is also the simplest and most reproducible in terms of form and with others. You need only time, the Scriptures and someplace to meet. What a person learns may easily be taught to another.
Our work does not have the goal to exclusively claim disciples as ours, nor build an organization, but to see our strengths and abilities build men and women in whatever walk of life or local assembly they find themselves in.
