Introduction

Discipling the Nations is an evangelical, inter-denominational Christian missionary agency
- incorporated as a non-profit religious organization in the state of Missouri, and
recognized by the US government as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization - whose present
primary focus is on Europe.

Our purpose is:

Making Jesus Christ known and seeing lives - even nations - transformed by the power of God!

Our mission's activities are predominantly discipleship and evangelistic in nature.
The foremost source of strategic direction and guidance for these comes from the Bible -
which we believe to be God's inspired Word - and through prayer. The key benefit of each of
these activities is that local churches and individuals are able to grow and mature according
to God's wishes and plans, becoming more functional members of their communities and nations.
As this is accomplished in one local setting or in one person's life, the focal point of activities
would shift to a different locale or person. One of the secondary benefits of this ministry is to
help connect the people and churches in Europe to the people and churches in North America, for
mutual growth and encouragement.

The name Discipling the Nations is taken from Matthew's Gospel, chapter 28, verses
18-20 - where, after Jesus Christ was raised from the dead on that Easter Sunday long ago,
He gave to His disciples what has been referred to as the "Great Commission", where He says:

"I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, as you go forth from here,
disciple the nations … baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach
these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always,
even to the end of the age."

In its simplest form, this command to disciple the nations (where "nations" refers to people groups of identifiable ethnicity, rather than to geopolitical
entities defined by recognizable borders) includes a variety of tasks, for example:

evangelizing, or proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those people who have not yet heard it

gathering those who respond to the Gospel with a desire to entrust their lives into the hands of God and follow Christ's teachings,
into local fellowships or churches where they can receive training from the Bible about how to live as Christians … this occasionally requires the
establishment of new local fellowships or churches if none exist in their close proximity

providing guidance and teaching so that these believers and fellowships and churches will continue to grow and develop in their
new relationship with God

The main activities of the Mission are intended to help make progress toward these goals of evangelizing, gathering together,
and teaching. Yet they are so broad and have such far-reaching implications, that no one mission organization or church could hope to
complete the task alone. Consequently, Discipling the Nations will work with, and be in partnership with many other mission agencies and
churches (and individual members belonging to these organizations) in the pursuit of these objectives. At present there is only one legal
affiliation in which dtn has entered, signing an inter-agency agreement with Action International Ministries of Canada to co-labour in
European ministries. Others represent merely informal relationship/ cooperation on a case-by-case basis. Once again, the key is partnership
through relationships ! Examples include: ResourceLinks, CBI, Ministry Essentials, GEM, Operation Mobilization, the Missionary Church, BEE,
Campus Crusade, CMML, and InterVarsity/ IFES.

Partnership

This is a partnership in Kingdom-building that you are a full and vital member of - the total impact of which will
only be known in heaven. We are co-workers with the Lord, together. [Col 3:23-24/ Phil 1:3-6/ I Cor 3:9a]
This partnership is all about the work of helping the nations to walk in the light of God, and to bring their splendor into the
City of God. [Rev 21:23-26]

Nations figure prominently in God's plans, from Genesis to Revelation. God desires to bless the nations - to
have them become everything that He originally intended. The glory and honour of the nations will be brought
before the King of the Universe. At that time, all the precious things of the nations will be saved " and
the dross destroyed.

Helen Keller once said, 'I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish humble tasks as
though they were great and noble. The world is moved along not only by the mighty shoves of it heroes, but by the aggregate of
the tiny pushes of each honest worker.'

Leanne and I humbly ask you to partner alongside us in these 'tiny pushes.'

My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me, and to finish His work "Lift up your eyes, and look to the fields -
for they are white, already to harvest. He that reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit unto life eternal; so that both the
sower and the reaper may rejoice together" one sows and another reaps - this is true!
