||
This upgrade enables you to use GD libraries or ImageMagick (if installed on
|
||
your server) to generate and resize small, medium and large images on the
|
||
fly while still simply uploading just one image or you can have different
|
||
sources for medium and large images. This upgrade further enables you to
|
||
watermark your images (overlay a second specific translucent image) and have
|
||
medium images pop up when you move your mouse over a small image.
|
||
|
||
This contribution includes an admin interface to browse your products just like
|
||
you would with the Attribute Manager and upload/delete/add additional images
|
||
without having to do this manually via FTP. Image Handler 2 works fine with mass
|
||
update utilities like EzPopulate.

**Warning:** This is work in progress. Image Handler has been tested to some

degree and works as expected under most conditions. Nevertheless it may contain
|
||
errors. Before you use this upgrade on a live site, you should test it in a
|
||
safe environment. I urge you to backup your database. Before you continue to
|
||
install it into your zen-cart folders make a backup of your complete shop
|
||
system.

==== Installation ====

||

== Requirements ==
|
||
|
||
In order to resize and modify images, Image Handler 2 needs either GD libraries
|
||
(since version 2) or ImageMagick (since version 6) installed. You can check if your version of PHP
|
||
includes the GD libraries by going to Admin -> Tools -> Server Info and
|
||
searching for "GD". You have to ask your host (or read your site’s
|
||
documentation), to learn about an ImageMagick installation.

== Short Version (don't do this on a live site) ==

||

||
Copy the following directories into your Zen Cart folder.
|
||
|
||
* admin
|
||
* bmz_cache
|
||
* images
|
||
* includes
|
||
|
||
Make sure that the "bmz_cache" folder's permissions match those of your
|
||
images folder (e.g 0777, 0775 or 0755).
|
||
|
||
Go to admin->Tools->Image Handler 2->Admin and click "Install Image Handler"
|
||
|
||
If you use a custom template, copy the contents of
|
||
includes/templates/templates_custom into your custom template’s folder or
|
||
merge the files if the target files have already been customized by you.

||

== Long Version ==
|
||
|
||
Check if this contributions would overwrite any files that you modified, if
|
||
you would upload it to your server. That means you have to compare the
|
||
folder containing your changes to this contribution's folder. The folders
|
||
you need to upload to your server are the following.
|
||
|
||
* admin
|
||
* bmz_cache
|
||
* images
|
||
* includes
|
||
|
||
Make sure that the "bmz_cache" folder's permissions match those of your
|
||
images folder (e.g 0777, 0775 or 0755).
|
||
|
||
If everything went fine, You will have a new entry called “Image Handler 2”
|
||
inside the Tools menu of your Zen Cart admin interface. Select this link to
|
||
request the Image Handler admin tool. There are four tabs on that page from
|
||
which you select “Admin” to display some administrational functions regarding
|
||
Image Handler 2. Select ‘Install Image Handler’ and the installation is
|
||
complete.
|
||
|
||
If you use a custom template, copy the contents of
|
||
includes/templates/template_custom into your custom template’s folder. If you
|
||
have modified any of the files located in this contribution's
|
||
includes/templates/template_custom folder, you need to merge these files
|
||
(popup_image_additional/tpl_main_page.php in particular) with those of your
|
||
custom template.
