Giving testimony to friend soon.
Dad coached at Beloit high school.
Brother pulled vaporizer on himself and got third-degree burns all over his body. Treated in Galveston.
Room was round, walked around outside. Every step was a bed of someone severely burned, in anguish and crying. Brother was in there, couldn't touch him but see him. You could hear whoever was in the middle of the room screaming as they disinfected the burn wounds.
Lois Phillips invited us to church--bus ministry. I would get on bus, drive to church. Bus came, not ready. Next Sunday, same. No one ready. Lois came back third Sunday, asked us again to come. We were ready, out of embarrassment. Lois was teacher of primary class, my class.
Lois was talking about salvation at the end of the lesson. Didn't bother me until she talked about fire--this hit me because of my brother. "You can avoid all of that by accepting Christ as your savior". Christ paid the price--to be in heaven. I sprinted, jumped out of aisle. Lois took me through the Romans road. 3:23, all sinned. 6:23, wages of sin is death, but gift of God is eternal life. I immediately asked Christ to be my savior. Immediate lifting of burden.
At school, I did show-and-tell, talked about what hell was and didn't want any classmates to go there.
Suggestions:
- Verses showing God's righteousness and judgement--needful to the judge sin.
- Give more detail about burn unit--wailing, verses on hell
- Only way to keep the wound clean--only way God can deal with sin
