## Bulk licensing
Pre-dates [[Nate Merritt]]!
Originally created for agreement with DTS. "Enterprise Account" account alert is used to identify an enterprise account for royalties (??).
Also have Group License and Group License Escrow delivery methods. Bulk License DM was first.
Special page for the bulk license to assign users Temp and Full access (move to full access when student graduates and gets full access).
Terminology: bulk license describes the whole thing. "Access" describes a temp or full user who has access to the resources in the bulk license.
Recipient is a _user_. Doesn't have access to resources, but serves as a bucket for other user accesses.
## Group licenses
Always have billing user. The recipient is a _user_.
A group license _is_ a bulk license.
## Group License Escrow
You can choose anyone in the group, but not everyone. Licenses must be manually distributed to members of the group. If you leave the group, you keep the licenses.
The group is primarily for selecting/finding users to give them licenses.
No concept of infinite slots.
Nate tried to get rid of this because it doesn't make us much revenue, but [[Phil Gons]] wanted to keep it because it's a gateway to our products.

[[Proclaim]] _does not_ use group license escrow. They have their own [[Proclaim]] licensing. It's separate, owned by the [[Proclaim]] team. Talked years ago about merging with Libronix licensing. Would need group billing? Can't remember exact details of why [[Proclaim]] chose to use its own system. They probably need group ownership of the license--to bill a group. Libronix licensing does not support this. |
