Requirements:
|
|
|
|
PHP 5.1.0 ≥ (Scripting Language)
|
|
MySQL 4.1 ≥ (Database Server) - MySQL 5 supported.
|
|
GD (Image Library) recommended.
|
|
Linux / Unix (recommended) or Windows* hosting account required.
|
|
Curl with SSL support required for some shipping/payment modules.
|
|
|
|
* ZendOptimizer or Ioncube will need to be installed on WIndows servers in order to run
|
|
CubeCart v4. On Linux/Unix servers ZendOptimizer is not required but the hosting account
|
|
must be able to load IonCube loader files.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

| 1. Install Instructions
|
|

|
|
|
|
These install instructions assume you have a web hosting account
|
|
meeting CubeCart's requirements with a MySQL database already created.
|
|
|
|
a. Upload the entire contents of this folder to the desired
|
|
location within the public HTML folder of your hosting account.
|
|
|
|
Examples:
|
|
|
|
/public_html
|
|
/www/store
|
|
/htdocs/shop
|
|
|
|
b. From your browser type in the website address to the files which
|
|
have just been uploaded to and load it.
|
|
|
|
Examples:
|
|
|
|
http://www.example.com/
|
|
http://store.example.com/
|
|
http://www.example.com/shop/
|
|
|
|
c. Ensure that the correct file permissions are set on the files. these should be:
|
|
|
|
Writable (0777):
|
|
images/uploads/
|
|
images/uploads/thumbs/
|
|
includes/extra/
|
|
cache/
|
|
|
|
d. If all files have been uploaded successfully and the hosting account
|
|
is compatible a screen should be presented with the options to install
|
|
or upgrade. Please select "Install CubeCart" and follow the on screen
|
|
instructions.
|
|
|
|
e. Once complete please delete the /setup folder to keep your store
|
|
secure.
|
|
|
|
f. After visiting the front or back end of the store you may need to follow
|
|
part 4 of this read me file.
|
|
|
|

| 2. Upgrade Instructions - version 4.x to latest version 4
|
|

|
|
|
|
a. Take a FULL backup of your existing files and database and check that
|
|
it is complete. This is critical in case the upgrade process fails or
|
|
there is an error.
|
|
|
|
b. Upload the entire contents of this folder over your existing files
|
|
replacing all existing ones.
|
|
|
|
IMPORTANT: If you renamed your admin folder or admin.php file you must do this prior
|
|
to uploading the new files ad your store will work as before.
|
|
|
|
c. Once that has completed in full please browse to the setup folder of your store.
|
|
|
|

|
http://www.example.com/shop/setup/
|
|
|
|
N.B. FTP can time out so please check the FTP log if available to make sure it
|
|
completed successfully.
|
|
|

d. If all files have uploaded successfully the setup page should load. Please select
|
|
"Upgrade CubeCart" and follow the on screen instructions.
|
|
|
|
e. Once complete please delete the /setup folder to keep your store
|
|
secure.
|
|
|
|
f. After visiting the front or back end of the store you may need to follow
|
|
part 4 of this read me file.

| 3. Upgrade Instructions - version 3.0.x to latest version 4
|
|

|
|
|
|
a. Take a FULL backup of your existing files and database and check that
|
|
it is complete. This is critical in case the upgrade process fails or

|
|
|
b. Please delete the following folders and files:
|
|
|
|
Folders:
|
|
|
|
/admin/
|
|
/classes/
|
|
/docs/
|
|
/extra/
|
|
/js/
|
|
/language/
|
|
/modules/
|
|
/pear/
|
|
/skins/
|
|
|
|
Files:
|
|
|
|
/cart.php
|
|
/confirmed.php
|
|
/download.php
|
|
/offLine.php
|
|
/switch.php
|
|
|
|
This should just leave the following folders:
|
|
/images
|
|
/includes
|
|
|
|
c. Upload the entire contents of this folder over the remaining files
|
|
replacing all existing ones.
|
|
|
|
d. Please make sure the following folders are writable by the web browser.
|
|
|
|
/cache
|
|
/includes/extra
|
|
|
|
If you have a Windows Server please ignore this step. If you have a Linux/Unix
|
|
environment please make sure these have a chmod value of 0777 or 0775.
|
|
|
|
e. Once that has completed in full please browse to the setup folder of your store.
|
|
|
|

|

| 4. Installing IonCube Loaders
|
|
+--------------------------------------------------------
|
|
If your server doesn't have the Zend Optimizer you may be
|
|
prompted with a message such as:
|
|
|
|
"Site error: the file /path/to/file_enc_ion.php requires
|
|
the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_xxx_x.x.so to be
|
|
installed by the site administrator."
|
|
|
|
To do this follow this please follow these instructions.
|
|
|
|
a. Go to http://www.ioncube.com/loaders.php
|
|
|
|
b. Download the suitable archive to your local machine.
|
|
|
|
c. Upload the suitable loader file from the extracted
|
|
archive to the /ioncube folder.
|
|
|
|
e.g. /ioncube/ioncube_loader_xxx_x.x.so
|
|
|
|
|
|
Troubleshooting:
|
|
Please beware that if the loader you have downloaded fails
|
|
there may be an alternative one for different server architectures.
|
|
|
|
e.g. Linux (x86) vs Linux (x86-64)
|
