Visits
Steve met with a few men
- Christian Price 1, doing well, speaking this Sunday
- Chris Jozwick, sometimes needs to work out some things with Lydia, going through one of them now
- Noah Price, worries, next phase of job
- Orlando Rodriguez, quite a heart for the Lord, does well with kids
- Mark Hartley, Spanish group is reluctant to have him join. Mark is one of the guys who went to Honduras who spoke on one cup versus many cup issue. Now there is a big split in the assemblies in Honduras--fallout from covid-19. Jim Haysmeyer (sp?), poured out his heart, offended at his perception of what Mark had done. Mark is a sensitive issue for the hispanic brothers. We might need to be sensitive to Mark coming. Mark has some issues with divorce and remarriage. Mark asked Steve to meet with Antonio, back in the day. Ismael started coming over, Mark was less necessary. His opinion is no divorce and no remarriage--told them to talk to the elders. Hispanic culture tends to give a lot of import to a teacher; what is says goes. So, this held more weight than maybe we would think. Steve got involved with this, sorting it out with the hispanic group. Saw Steve at next Vessels, seemed nervous, Steve told him to only defer those questions, not address them at all. Mark has not been involved in the Spanish meeting in some time.
- Going to try to visit Ron Spragg and Kathy Spragg. Got rescheduled because of a doctor's appointment for Kathy.
- Meeting with Joseph Rankin before meeting on Sunday. Relationship with Katie has ended. Needs some time to heal up, get bearings, is working. Worked until 7pm, still came to prayer meeting on Wednesday.
State of the union
Pray for unity around the topics and content.
Would be good to have a deadline, can be moved, but helps elders make progress on the matter.
Carl: would be good to meet in person.
Sunday school
High school going through -- Galatians -- this semester, -- James -- next.
Men's bible study (breakfast)
Planning on doing -- Colossians --.
Nick's message on Sunday
Feedback? Carl: message itself was good. He reviewed a lot. Did a pretty good job. Communicating things well. Carl challenged him on one thing, not a main paint (side comment on homosexuality). Coverage of the topic went well. Pete: Agree with what Carl said and I said, well researched, Pete learned some things, handled it very well. He went an 1:15, should have been broken into two messages. Finished at 12:10. With Sunday school going, it's hard. If Sunday school was going on, would have been very challenging for SS teachers. Todd: Agrees with Pete on length of message. Steve: he didn't want to break it up because it's such a difficult topic to do.

OK if we take a break this year. They need help. Someone takes over? Could move date, if needed.
Pete: Grayson and Amy definitely need help. Steve: plan a spring fest instead? Carl: communicate back to Grayson, elders are comfortable not doing Fall fest this year, though open to someone stepping up to doing it.
Shower list
Amy needs to be taken off--too much! Janet will bring it up at ladies' meeting tonight. Olivia Price and Tisara Holden are on the list too. Jackie Price is coming into the ladies leadership group.
September 22nd, need speaker
2024-09-22 (Sunday) Numbers going to camping trip? Maybe 50% going. Lots "thinking" about it, but not sure.

Issues at the Baldwin Chapel
Husband-wife issues with Dan and Cindy (last name?). Cindy having psychiatric issues. Back together with husband, confessed to not being in her right mind with her accusations against her husband. Has caused things with the elders, seeing from opposite sides.
Maple Leaf fest, Steve hesitant about going forward when one of the three people involved in embroiled in this.
