+Notes from reading he feedback:
+
+- Most of the "for it" feedback was shallow, short and without any support other than "I like it" or "it's the best"
+- Some of the negative feedback was shallow too, many were thoughtful and respectful
+- The one long review from June 14, 2023 was one of the most balanced and thoughtful and was in favor of using the book
+- The most energetic responses were against replacing the red and black hymn books, even if we did also purchase the Anthem song books
+- None of the reviews included biblical evaluations of what worship or music is supposed to be
+- Many seemed in favor of using the song book without purchasing for each row
+- I think teaching on worship and music is needed at the chapel
+- I agree that we cannot chase down the lives of everyone who has written a song to evaluate them for sinlessness. On the other hand, if, without any effort, we already know of the horrible sins of some of the song writers, I think we should carefully consider whether we'll sing those songs or not. +New Hymnals

+Several hymnals were repaired for use with Vessels of Honor. Since VoH was remote last year, these repaired hymnals were used at the chapel and no new purchases were made.

+Until now and going forward we have and will follow Johnson County guidelines. Todd Ericson has discussed seating arrangements since more people are coming to the meeting. Spacing out chairs and using every row. Two sides to chapel: one for social distancing, one with no social distancing and people could choose where to sit.

+Expenses for masks at the chapel and special bread and wine cups are minimal. In general, expenses were down from the year before due to spare building usage, camps being canceled, etc.

+Considering selling the van and renting a van when we need it which the men's business meeting will decide.

+Cash offerings greatly dropped from 2019 to 2020. This is most likely due to remote meetings, and fewer people being at the chapel as well and a decline in attendance from groups at the chapel most likely to give with cash.

+Became more responsible in this task: became more mature. Later, I would wake up in the middle of the night thinking I had forgotten the chickens!

+Becoming more responsible brings maturity. Same of a Christian? What are the responsibilities of a Christian.

+1. What has Christ done for us: Suffered punished of our sins, of the whole world

+    1. 1 John - not only our sins, but the whole world

+We get to pray with God--a one-on-one conversation. It's a privilege that we are able to talk to God. Prayers don't have to sound perfect, but in faith and trust in God.

+If you answered yes, trust Jesus--he wants to guide and answer our prayers.

+Couple of other distractions: when got into group, room was loud, multiple people praying. Decided to pray when room was quiet--actually prayed over soft-spoken girl! Felt bad and embarrassed. God was listening to us both. God heard both, praying over each other didn't cancel each other out.

+Summer 2015 - built own basketball court, going on to walk-on at college. Dad took job in Springfield, wrecked my life, lost dream job, lost ability to HDC, couldn't play basketball, lost farm with court, lost friends.

+February 2016 - got really sick. In bed for 2 months. Constant discomfort. Lost weight, physical muscle-mass. Everything built up was taken away. In this time, God was breaking stubborn, prideful heart. Remember being propped up against a wall, very weak. Still selfishly praying to be put out of misery--nothing to identify myself with. Everything I thought I was, was gone. Still prideful, but everything I had was not worth living for. Thinking, "live for Christ or not live at all". Still selfish, but God used that thinking to humble me before Him. Perspective completely changed, repented before the Lord about having lived myself. My life apart from Christ would amount to nothing. Nothing good apart from Christ.

+1 Peter 1:24-25 all flesh is grass, the word endures. Wish I could say I'm a perfect Christian--but it is a constant struggle. Understand I'm living for Christ, but it is day-by-day decision to do it.

+At Sooner Bible Camp, have to put trust in faith in God, not what happened when you were 4. This spoke to me, I need to put my trust in God continually.

+After that, needed to take care of my sins, change views of God. Believe it for myself, not just what my parents say. Currently, trying to grow, finding God's plan for me.

+Brother pulled vaporizer on himself and got third-degree burns all over his body. Treated in Galveston.

+Room was round, walked around outside. Every step was a bed of someone severely burned, in anguish and crying. Brother was in there, couldn't touch him but see him. You could hear whoever was in the middle of the room screaming as they disinfected the burn wounds.

+Lois Phillips invited us to church--bus ministry. I would get on bus, drive to church. Bus came, not ready. Next Sunday, same. No one ready. Lois came back third Sunday, asked us again to come. We were ready, out of embarrassment. Lois was teacher of primary class, my class.

+Lois was talking about salvation at the end of the lesson. Didn't bother me until she talked about fire--this hit me because of my brother. "You can avoid all of that by accepting Christ as your savior". Christ paid the price--to be in heaven. I sprinted, jumped out of aisle. Lois took me through the Romans road. 3:23, all sinned. 6:23, wages of sin is death, but gift of God is eternal life. I immediately asked Christ to be my savior. Immediate lifting of burden.

+At first glance, this is a little complicated. Hoping to clarify by the time I'm done, break it down.

+Context: Hebrews 10, talking about sacrifice. Under old covenant, sins are not taken away. Old covenant between God and Israel, new is between God and christians. Main teaching, animal sacrifices do not take away sin. Was to provide temporary covering of sins, also provide foreshadowing. Only way to take away sins was the perfect sacrifice, Christ.

+Now that we know Jesus paved the way, we can draw near to God.
+ 
+Five parts
+
+1. Draw nearTo God, encouragement to get close to Christ. How? Prayer, all parts of worship, conversations with others, etc. How will you draw near? The necessary steps to a true prayer.
+2. True heartTrue heart, without hypocrisy, embodies the truth. When we pray, we need to have a true heart. A true heart toward God, ourselves and others. Jer 17:9 - heart is deceitful. We cannot pray with a deceitful heart, pray for His will, not our own. Matt 6:10 - example of a true prayer.
+3. Full assuranceBible dictionary -- no doubt in our acceptance to God. Sometimes we have doubts, so full assurance is more confidence in a faithful God, not having no doubts. What He has done, gives us confidence. God is always faithful.
+4. Hearts sprinkled from evil conscienceBig word is sprinkled. Sprinkled actually means to be cleansed--verse makes more sense now. Indicates a consistent character and devout life toward God. What about the evil conscience? Big fan of Clue, murder mystery. When I think of evil conscience, a murderer in their mind, thinking of the evil thing they've done. This is the extreme though. Really, an evil conscience is just a guilty conscience--we have sinned. Because we have been cleansed…
+5. Bodies washed with pure waterOur body is the outward man. When we are washed with a pure water, we're cleansed from all dirt. We are no longer condemned.

+2. While previous believers have run their race and shown us an example--we are not done yet!
+ 
+We must lay aside every encumbrance and every sin. You never see a runner with dumbbells in his hand or a long, thick robe!

+The author gives us Jesus as the best example of how to run. Though on earth, men did not recognize him, he was vindicated before God.

+Paul looked to Jesus as in 1 Tim 6:13 Paul, tried before men like Niro, kept the faith by looking to Christ.

Please accept my apologies. I don’t wish to disappoint you or Steve. But, I am trusting that this is from the Lord and that the outcome will be more honoring to Him and Steve’s remembrance this way.
